Yes, you do Need to Wear Sunglasses

Best Polarized Sunglasses under $100

As one of the leading brands in discount designer glasses, we get asked far too often if people actually need to wear polarized sunglasses. The short answer is yes. But, since taking our word for it is far too simple, here’s a brief summary of the many, many reasons why protecting your eyes is a good thing.

We’d like to briefly take you back to one of the darkest eras of humanity: a time before sunglasses. People went blind, babies cried, famine spread across the land, it was basically Armageddon. Okay, that may have been a bit of an over exaggerating, but let’s just say that people figured out pretty quickly that some form of eye protection was a necessity. In prehistoric times, the Inuit wore flattened walrus ivory with small slits to see through as a way to protect their eyes from glare. Sure, they weren’t as great as our designer sunglasses, but they were the foundation a pretty important concept: caring for your eyes.

Unfortunately, everyone’s favorite ball of gas in the sky can have some really nasty side effects, even if you don’t stare directly at it. (But let’s be honest, who hasn’t tried to stare into the sun before?) For some reason, the thing that literally gives life to this planet can have some negative health effects for us. Take for example, Cataracts and Glaucoma. These medical conditions are about as lovely as they sound and are linked directly to sun exposure. More specifically, the UV rays that come with it. Cataracts shows up as cloudy, small spots on the lenses of your eye, and seems to be directly caused by long term exposure to the sun. This can only worsen depending on how long you spend outside whenever you chose to go out, and generally results in surgery. Glaucoma is fairly similar but can actually lead to blindness in the long term. Though not 100% avoidable, the best way to delay these diseases is to find the best sunglasses for UV protection. Which, not to toot our own horn too much, we happen to have a lot of.

But that’s not the only reason you should invest in polarized sunglasses. If for some reason your own health and well-being isn’t enough of a reason to convince you, there’s always the safety of others. The verdict may be out, but the general consensus among the internet is that wearing sunglasses during the day time if it’s raining a little can actually help you be a safer driver. This topic is still being hotly debated, so it’s a little too soon to pick sides, but we can definitely see how sunglasses could help out. But, one thing that can’t be debated is how important sunglasses are on a sunny day. As the sellers of some of the best polarized sunglasses for driving, we’ve had countless clients come to us after getting in an accident because they couldn’t fully see the road. For some reason people only think they need sunglasses after getting in a car accident caused by not having them. Instead of waiting to look for a quality product after the fact, why not invest in your safety, and the safety of those around you, now?

At the end of the day, if somehow the safety of literally everyone isn’t enough to make you consider sunglasses, think of it this way: they look really cool. There’s a reason why action movies put all their leads in sunglasses. It’s stylish and mysterious and vaguely intimidating. Hollywood starts wear them all the time! (And no, it’s not just because the constantly flashing lights from the cameras make them go blind.) Sunglasses are just another fun addition to your outfit to express yourself. From sleek and sexy cat eye sunglasses for women on the town, to the best running sunglasses for anyone’s inner marathoner, they’re an important societal expression of who we are, what we do, and what we love. Not to mention, it’s pretty nice when people can’t tell where you’re actually looking.

We understand if you still don’t think you need sunglasses. Some people love eye diseases, harming others, and not being able to do the oddly sexy over the glasses gaze. We totally get it. But, it’s clear to us that sunglasses are actively making our lives dramatically better, and it’s that passion that our brand wants to share with you. Regardless of where you come from and who you are, we firmly believe that with how important sunglasses are, it’s our duty to bring you quality product at an even better price. With the best polarized sunglasses under $100 for both men and women, and countless styles to choose from, we want you to be safe, to keep others safe, and to feel your best. So yes, you really do need to wear sunglasses.
